LEFT BEHIND

COMMUNITY
ENGAGEMENT
Liberty Schools are a set of elementary schools providing high-quality education to children living in abject poverty, characterized by the scarcity of basic food, clean water, health, shelter, education and information. Text foundation is taking over the administration of the already established Liberty schools and will position within the next 3-5 years, to establish a Liberty School within every geopolitical region in Nigeria. These schools will be centres of excellence focused on STEAM education at the primary school level across Nigeria.
In order to spur support within the local communities aimed at the acceptance of these learning interventions, TEXT will collaborate with stakeholders in the following ways:
- Work with local education officials to identify beneficiaries, teaching facilitators and volunteers.
- Develop access to gatekeepers and community leaders using existing programs in the communities.
- Maintain relationships with education officials and community leaders throughout the project.
- Work with BESDA Community Based Groups comprising community leaders, stakeholders and local education officials to reach OOSC that they have identified, registered and organized into Non-Formal Learning Centers (NFLCs).
