LEFT BEHIND
COMMUNITY
ENGAGEMENT
The Radio School Program, which is focused on Out of School Children (OOSC) of Primary school age, will be delivered via Interactive Radio Instruction (IRI) with content that has been designed using a human-centred design approach that takes into context the culture of kids in the region. On-air dramatization will help the children follow along with role-playing and general participatory practice to aid knowledge retention. In addition, radio School beneficiaries would interact with TEXT Foundation via mobile phone and IVR dialogue for further learning reinforcement, while an SMS feature will prompt Teachers, Parents, facilitators and community leaders to provide the necessary support for reinforcing student learning.
The core areas of focus that make up the Liberty School Model include the following:
- Focus on primary education
- STEAM-based learning style
- Establishing schools & collaborations
- Nationwide projects (targeting 36 states)
- Teacher & Administrative training oriented
- Educational spaces design and construction.
- Establish Computer-Based-Testing (CBT) centres and ICT Hubs
- Work with BESDA Community Based Groups comprising community leaders, stakeholders and local education officials to reach OOSC that they have identified, registered and organized into Non-Formal Learning Centers (NFLCs).
